Alfred - The wire-less way for your garden

Based on the ArduMower, Alfred is a GPS RTK based robotic mower with an industrially manufactured housing. We have been using the GPS technology successfully on the ArduMower for 3 years now, yet some things need to be adapted and optimized on Alfred. The app still awaits an overhaul for better handling and a more modern design. Many improvements and new features are planned. Although it is a DIY product, there is no need to worry, the necessary steps are done quickly. Feel free to use our setup and quick start videos at the bottom of this page. The required software for the Alfred is provided by Grau GmbH, you will receive an email with the license for the app after purchase.
If you are looking for a cheaper solution or if you appreciate a lot of freedom in building and equipping, the ArduMower is still recommended. Quite incidentally, the ArduMower is also being further developed and benefits from the development push of the Alfred.

The team around the Ardumower has been developing and testing robotic lawnmowers for almost 10 years, researching a wide range of technologies. Core topics are navigation and mowing without perimeter wire. A key technology along the way has been satellite-based navigation. For a long time, they lacked the necessary accuracy. When they became sufficiently accurate technologically, the systems were far too expensive. This has changed in the last three years and for the last two years the DIY ArduMower has been driving the world with this technology. Trust in experience and not in promises.

Finally mowing without boundary wire

Thanks to state-of-the-art GPS technology, costly loop installations are a thing of the past. No more searching for broken wires and complicated adjustments when your yard changes. Alfred navigates with centimeter accuracy and mowing maps can be quickly and easily adjusted to accommodate future changes.

Mowing in lanes

"Efficiency" is the key to sustainability. When mowing by hand, no one would crisscross the lawn, double and triple mow areas that have already been mowed, and miss other areas. Structured mowing in strips is efficient. This not only saves energy and protects the material, but also increases the usage time of your garden, as Alfred finishes faster than robotic mowers with the chaos principle.

Alfred is your innovative garden helper that allows you to enjoy more free time

Thanks to the innovative GPS technology, you no longer need to install Alfred's garage on or near the lawn to be mowed. Mowing the lawn in front of the house and finding the charging station behind the house is no problem for Alfred. On request by day and by night.

Simple operation

Your smartphone is Alfred's control center. Simply create a map once and set the garage position - and off you go.
The quick adjustment of areas and the simple delineation of obstacles are the hallmarks of GPS technology.

Safety is trump

Alfred has several technologies to detect problems and hazards. The entire housing is used for tactile detection of obstacles. This is important to avoid dangerous situations or damage. All motors are monitored by sensors to detect irregularities. Additional sensors monitor the position of the robot to detect lifting, for example.
